Samsung Galaxy S III Mini launched
12 October 2012 : Samsung has unveiled its new Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini that is a compact version of its flagship Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. The mini Samsung Galaxy S 3 comes with a screen size same as that of Apple iPhone5 to give it a stiff competition in the smartphone market.
The Galaxy S3 mini comes with the latest Android Os - Jellybean ,i.e, the version 4.1 of Android. The Samsung Galaxy S 3 mini has a 4 inches High-Definition (HD) touch screen. The size reduction of the screen comes with a technical price and the resolution of the screen is cut down to 800 X 480 pixels as compared to 1280X720 pixels of the Samsung Galaxy S3.
The camera quality has also been reduced from 8 MP to 5 MP and the dual-core processor of the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been downgraded to 1 GHz in the samsung galaxy s iii mini version.
Samsung has not yet revealed its prices and neither has it revealed the sales date.

The patent war between Samsung and Apple is currently spread across 10 countries and in some of them, it has even led to ban of Samsung's galaxy s3 smartphone.
The product is getting negative response from tech experts. Wired has called the mini galaxy s3 - "a big compromise in a small package". The mini does not come with the same features as those available in the Samsung Galaxy S 3. (See Samsung Galaxy S3 features).
Shin Jong-Kyun - Samsung's IT and mobile communications division leader told reporters that this version of Samsung Galaxy S 3 was released to meet huge demands of 4" smartphones in the Europe. The mini version of the galaxy s 3 is also called the lower end-version of Samsung Galaxy S3.
