Samsung becomes the top mobile phone maker in US, beats Apple

Samsung, in the last three months, gained momentum in manufacturing of mobile phones leading to a 0.7% rise in the market share in U.S. These stats were revealed by comScore, which did a survey and revealed that Samsung has dominated the mobile phone market in the U.S. in the last three months, while Apple has moved down to the second slot.

A survey was done by comScore to find who is dominating the mobile phone market in terms of manufacturing units of cellphones. The results of the survey showed that the leader was Samsung, registering a 0.7% increase in its market share. The South Korean giant took a leap from 25.6 % to 26.3 % in terms of the market share.

Apple slipped down to the second place. Apple, the smartphone manufacturing company, went up by 1.5% percent to 17.8% in the market. This slip of apple market share and the rise of the South Korean giant Samsung, even after seeking ban on Samsung smartphones in the U.S. seems to be an issue of worry for Apple Inc. LG, another South Korean mobile units manufacturing company stood third, with a share of 17.6% in the market.

This closeness of LG's market share to Apple's market share is also worrying Apple as there's just a 0.2 % difference which LG is aiming to cover-up in the coming few months. After LG stood motorola far behind at 11% still struggling to compete with these three giants.

The survey also revealed the top OS platforms. Google's Android stood at the first place with a 53.6 percent share which was 52.2 percent earlier. Apple's iOS remained at the second place with only a 34.3 percent seeing a rise of 0.9 % corresponding to the previous results.
