Samsung Galaxy S III vs LG Optimus 4X HD

LG and HTC released their new smartphones recently. While HTC launched its HTC OneX, LG launched the LG Optimus 4X HD. We have already compared Samsung galaxy s III with HTC One X and also compared Samsung galaxy s 3 with iPhone. Samsung galaxy sIII has surely done well in both the comparisons and now lets see how does it score in this competition.

Obviously, from its look LG Optimus 4x hd looks like any other smartphone currently available in stores, but Samsung's looks are appealing and brand new. Samsung has given a pebble look to its galaxy siii due to which the phone looks sleek and weighs less. With its hardware buttons well-placed, Samsung galaxy s 3 seems to be more user-friendly. But LG optimus is more compact and its design and surface finish is not bad at all. But, Samsung galaxy s3's looks won our heart.

Samsung galaxy s III comes with a 4.8 inches touch screen with a capacitive touch and a superAMOLED HD Screen while LG Optimus 4 X hd comes with a 4.7inches IPS-LCD display screen. The IPS-LCD technology used in display of the LG Optimus 4X HD provides it 'True HD' display which make the color representation accurate and more real. Also, you can use 4X HD even in sunlight. Samsung Galaxy s 3 also has a brilliant display and can be adjusted using display settings. But, still LG Optimus 4 X HD is at par.

Both the phones run on the Android 4.0 OS - the Ice cream Sandwich, which is what puts both the phones in the high-end category. Samsung's interface - the Samsung TouchWiz nature UI is more detailed and user-friendly. A lot of new applications and features have been added to this phone. But, if you are not so much interested or bothered with the Interface, even LG optimus 4x hd would work fine for you.

Although both the smartphones offer a great internet browsing experience, with support for Adobe flash, text reflow, smooth and easy navigation. But we found samsung galaxy s 3 facing problems in rendering web pages sometimes. But I hope Samsung would overcome this problem soon.

Samsung Galaxy comes with the Quad-core exynos processor and seems to be faster than the LG optimus HD 4X which comes with a quad-core Tegra 3 chip. Both of them come with a RAM of 1 GB and the galaxy s 3 provides you with 3 options to choose from - 16 GB , 32 GB and 64 GB of internal memory. Not only this, you can add an additional maximum of 64 GB of memory through the provided memory slot. But, LG optimus provides only 16 GB of internal space and expandable upto 64 GB .

Again, when it comes to better photo shoot, Samsung has the upper hand. In our opinion Samsung Galaxy s III can shoot better photos than LG Optimus 4X HD. Well, this doesn't mean that LG Optimus has an inferior camera quality. Both the smartphones capture above-average quality photos in day as well as dim light.But, the features of Samsung Galaxy S 3 make it superior to LG optimus when it comes to photo capturing. The burst shot mode, wider field - meaning that you can click a bigger picture without being far away from the view, and the panorama view takes photography to a higher level. 

When it comes to performance you cannot clearly distinguish which phone is better.Both give equally great performance and both respond equally fast to the commands.

Both the smartphones come with a battery that last long for over 11 hours while you talk on a 3G network. Samsung comes with a 2100 mAh battery while LG Optimus takes the lead with a 2150 mAh battery. But this 50 mAh must not be an issue.
